the the turns of table remember that whole blue point thing we talked about
like last week that whole thing will apparently the story is now being sort
have flipped on its head. The entire situation about Bloodborne and associated Bloodborne drama
is that who is the ultimate party responsible for no Bloodborne shit, man. No Bloodborne Remaster,
no Bloodborne Remake. It's about persistence. But how much are you asking us to persist,
brother and yeah this script has officially been flipped and maybe is a
lot different than what a lot of us were assuming so if we start looking at number
one we got to track it down we got to track what's going down like what has
led to what I feel like a lot of stuff that has been said in the past is
shockingly not being considered which is funny so I I kind of want to go back
to all the things that I remember a lot of these people saying about this stuff and I
want to go back and sort of shed some light on the way how I understand these things have
worked in the past knowing people that have worked directly with from soft and what that
relationship was kind of like.
So from my perspective and what the hell is going down now what the hell is going
down from soft frustrated with Sony. You know, it's hard to say. There's it's it's always been weird.
We've always said bless and Sony seems to hate Bloodborne. But even I heard even I heard many
times over many years that folks at Sony have never forgotten about Bloodborne that like maybe
not the executive branch, but a lot of people want to stand the shit out of that game. And
and a lot of folks that are there, legit love it.
They're like, oh, that's one of PlayStation's best games.
Like, people legit love it.
So it's like, oh, it would always have champions, you know?
Bloodborne seems like a franchise that is so beloved
to just gaming that it would have enough champions
within the industry.
So we've learned a bit more about what's going on.
So insert some actual new information
that popped up today.
And the first biggest one was a news story that dropped
from someone that is like not just a rando.
This is from Jason Schreyer,
usually has a pretty good pulse
of what's going down behind the scenes in the industry.
It's talking about stuff.
And here's what happened.
Turns out it was not indeed Sony.
That was the ones that were completely
against doing a Bloodborne.
It turns out I might have been from soft so we have to go back with the start looking at information last year blue point games pitched a blood-borne remake
Sony didn't turn it down from software did
Inside the tragic closure of blue point what they've been doing for the last five years and why the studio was shut down
That also included a couple of other pitches that they had including a
Ghost of Tsushima spin-off and potentially an update to shadow of the Colossus
PlayStation 4, right? Which both of them aren't super appealing, right? A couple of those other
titles like a Bloodborne remake, a Shadow of the Colossus update, maybe for PS5, and or a
Ghost of Tsushima spin-off were potentially some of the projects that they were pitching. And
apparently it didn't pan out after this entire like God of War, God of War live service fiasco.
an original IP. I don't, was there any talks of them doing actual original IP?
There's, there's been people saying that over the years, but everything they're
reading now seems to be lining up with kind of like Sony stuff, mostly like
rumors was what that was before. So anyway, here's the thing. Is this
This factually true, maybe, is this actually legitimate a true news source of information?
Could it be false?
It could be false, right?
But there is a chance that like some aspects of cross communication, these are people
we're dealing with, these aren't official statements coming from behind the scenes.
I think what we're looking at here does have an ounce of truth to it, but when you read
this headline, my dude, Blue Point was trying to make a Bloodborne remake, Sony was trying
to make a Bloodborne remake, and Miyazaki betrayed them, like, it reads like that.
It reads very hot, right?
It reads like, whoa, Miyazaki, you snob-nosed bitch, turning your nose up to us, no
Nudborn and he drank a drink with a pinky up. Oh shit
However, I don't think yeah the question great question. Why why would they say no to this demon souls was relatively well
Well received outside of some backlash of specific elements
Relatively well received one of the best-looking games on the PlayStation generation. What the hell's going on?
That's a great question
Before we get into, and I pulled up a couple of articles that go back like four to five years.
There's one that I need to try to find.
Nobody has direct communication with Miyazaki, who's like an executive lead at Fromsoft, right?
And has been there for a very long time.
Nobody has direct communication with this dude, with his thoughts, his wants, his desires,
and his needs.
just don't unless he gets into interviews and starts talking about shit.
And he has, he legit has.
The story that's building right now is Miyazaki-san, God Miyazaki, we know why you did not want
to make Bloodborne Remake with Blue Point because Blue Point butchered demon souls.
How could they?
Demon Souls remake butchered the artistic integrity of Demon Souls.
And to be honest, to be on those to sympathize with those guys, yeah, I get it.
No, I definitely agree.
Some parts of that game are not artistically completely aligned
with a bit of what happened in the Demon Souls OG to remake.
Yeah, but I think I think in totality,
The end result was something that was pretty crazy looking and maybe didn't hit the mark
in every single way.
Same thing with Shadow of the Colossus.
But I think for the greater majority of it, like the 90 to like 95% of it is pretty incredible.
It's pretty crazy.
So it's like, to me, like the batting average they got on their two big remakes, right?
It's pretty decent, even though are they batting 100%?
My dude, chat, I'd like to remind you, Metal Gear Twin Snakes exists and Kojima was directly
involved so moving on, here's an old article I found.
From software, Miyazaki responds to calls of Bloodborne Remake on PS5, damn, he responded
already, oh wait, this is from two years ago.
Oh, wait.
This is Lord Miyazaki himself speaking specifically about this.
So Miyazaki asks about the possibility of a Bloodborne
remake.
He deflects a little bit, saying ultimately, or unfortunately,
and I said this in other interviews,
it's not my place to talk about Bloodborne specifically.
Sony owns it.
We simply do not own the IPF from soft.
For me personally, it was a great project.
And I have a lot of great memories for that game,
but we're not at liberty to really speak about it.
In the past, Miyazaki has also gone on,
I think this happened not even that long ago,
maybe less than a year ago.
So pretty much say like,
if you want the game of games that we ever made,
it was Bloodborne in a direct interview.
Like his reverence and his team's reverence
for the people that were in charge of
and also produced Bloodborne as a game,
he goes on to say like,
if there is one game that represents his ideologies,
his game design, his visual aesthetics, everything.
He's like, it's Bloodborne.
Bloodborne was the game that we nailed it.
And it's like, wow, okay, just gonna say it.
All right, that's pretty crazy.
However, talking about this a little bit,
Miyazaki shared some more thoughts acknowledging
it made him very happy to see so many people
passionate about Bloodborne that suggested the game
would benefit from a release on modern hardware.
Interesting.
I think having new hardware is definitely a part
of what gives these remakes value.
things you weren't able to achieve on previous generations,
ways you were able to render specific expressions.
New hardware sometimes makes that possible.
However, I wouldn't say that's the be all end all.
I think purely from a user perspective,
modern hardware also allows more players
to appreciate all games.
And so it ends up being a simple reason.
But as a fellow player,
I think that accessibility is important.
I think that can be the driving force
between bringing an old game to a new platform.
So pretty much, Miyazaki is not entirely against
like bringing Bloodborne to PC,
bringing Bloodborne back and giving it some spruce
in some ways.
It's not necessarily a thing that's like
off the table for him, you know?
He's kind of down to do it.
Going back a little bit.

And we've since seen it rebuilt by different developers
without your direct involvement.
What is it like you
through experience, the re-release of a game
you originally worked on over a decade ago.
And he responds.
He's probably gonna give a scathing response, right?
He's probably gonna be,

As you say, I was not directly involved
and I haven't played the Demon's Souls remake.
But this isn't because I don't enjoy
playing games that I've made in the past.
Oh, this is because I just don't enjoy the playing the games that he has made in the past.
It brings up a lot of old emotions, a lot of old memories, and this gets a little bit overwhelming,
and it doesn't feel like playing anymore. So I have not played the Demon's Souls remake. He must
hate it. But I am very glad to see it gets this fresh look. These brand new current gen graphics.
It's an old game. So to see it remade in this way and have new players playing it was
obviously something that very much made me happy.
There was a rough game back in the day.
He's not wrong with a relative rough development.
So I was anxious that new people
were just not gonna like it in that way.
That was a cause of concern for me when it was re-released,
but you know, in the end,
I'm just happy to see that the reaction is happy
that everyone is enjoying it.
One thing that was really fun,
seeing Blue Point Games work on his old game
was come up with certain things
that they didn't consider
and to approach certain elements of it.
It's visuals, it's mechanics.
In a way, we either couldn't or didn't back in the day.
So to see them researching
and applying these new thought processes and new techniques,
this was something that was really exciting and interesting.
He also has said in other interviews
that the graphics in the Demon's Souls remake
were so good that he felt that the FromSoft team
needs to sort of step it up.
Like straight up, he has said, like, all right, so demon souls
look way too good.
Our from soft games maybe need to be spruced up a bit more.
Like he actually would go on record and saying things like that.
So where does that where does that kind of leave us today?
Miyazaki, obviously, and his team love Bloodborne.
It's it's apparently their baby on demon souls was made
without their direct consent.
Maybe there was like a small portion of consent,
but he wasn't involved in the development.
And Blue Point made a relatively well-received
Demon's Souls remake that apparently Miyazaki
was pretty cool with,
kinda cool with people being able to play their game
on modern hardware.
So that's okay.
So where does that leave us today?
Apparently from soft big no.
But I think the devil's in the details here.
I don't think this is just a matter of like, these guys don't like this or there's a lot
of hot relationship stuff going on.
There's like a lot of drama.
No, I don't think that's the case.
I think it's much more simple than that.

This is from Shuhei Yoshida, which was like quite literally one of the lead dudes that was
in charge of like Sony Japan, and a lot of this stuff back when this was happening.
FromSoft know Miyazaki, yes.
Miyazaki is the executive of FromSoft, my dude.
Like, he's not just a game designer type guy, he's not just a director.
Miyazaki is like the top of FromSoft executive as well.
He's not a shareholder type of guy, but he is at the top and he's also directly involved
with gay.
He is from soft now.
He's been that way for a long time.
So listen to Shuei Yoshida has to say about why the hell hasn't Sony done anything with
Bloodborne, my dude?
What the hell's going on?
You know, I have only my personal theory to that station.
I left first party, so I don't know what's going on.
My theory is, because I remember Miyazaki-san really, really loved Bloodborne, you know, what he created.
And so I think he is interested, but he's so successful and he's so busy.
So he doesn't want, he cannot do himself, but he doesn't want anyone else to touch it.
So, that's my theory and the PlayStation team respect his wish.
So, that's my guess, right?

So, these are just people that have been involved with these individuals.
Again, artistic projects aren't always decided and greenlit by corporations and executives

You would like to think that there's a little bit of artistic integrity that remains in the high-level portion of this industry in the triple-a aspect of this industry

Almost ten years now. There was all these talks of a brand new soul caliber. Why is this relevant max?
How is how is fighting games somehow relevant to what the hell is going on between
Sony blue point and from soft nowadays? How oh, I'll tell you because that Bandai Namco
They're also the next big champion of from soft
They do Dark Souls dude
They do a bunch of Dark Souls games and they also do Elden Ring and they also do Night Rain
They are one of the biggest
perpetrators and also enablers of Miyazaki's like vision
to allow it to bear fruit.
And to be real, Bandai Namco has a very good relationship
with them, they give those dudes a lot of money,
and oh boy, do they make them a shit ton of money.
So from my bitch ass perspective,
or maybe I didn't understand how things worked,
a long while back it was like,
dude, a new Soul Calibur is a guaranteed smash hit,
brother, it's guaranteed.
You know why?
Sunbrows in it, Artorias is in it.
Gee, I mean, you could make the PlayStation version
and put a Bloodborne Hunter in that shit.

Like, the amount of crossover is gonna be nuts

which were at the time very high level

and wondering, they're like, oh, that's not gonna happen.

of how FromSoft exists in this industry.
The dude was like, we wouldn't dare ask them for that.

He's like, we do, but they made it.
And they make them so much money

These guys, you have to look at what
FromSoft is in this perspective of the industry, right?

and more and more popular as time went on.
And they're just like designing in a bubble,

Dude, and whoever is the ones that are publishing this stuff

So because of that, why would you ever
want to jeopardize the relationship
that they have of the things they made?

I think that I personally feel what's going on right now
is pretty cut and dry, dude.

If you're gonna do anything with it, let us do it.

Um, the one thing that is weird in this entire situation, so what the hell is going on with
Duskbloods?
What the hell is, what the hell is this blood-borne-like-looking-ass game that is coming out?
So I, I don't know.
It seems very weird.
It seems odd.
But at the same point, it feels like Nintendo stepped in and an opportunity where I'm
just going to throw out the previous prediction, maybe Sony or others were not allowing them
to do something like that? Maybe there was an expectation of something and they wanted
to do this because there's rumors that Dustblood has been in development since like 2019.
And then Nintendo is like, hey, whatever you want, whatever you want. And Nintendo
just gave them whatever the hell they wanted and enabled it to be a new platform exclusive.
going to be good? We don't know. But it's Miyazaki's next baby, my dude. So however, at the time of
PlayStation when that shit was going down, there were some pretty clear initiatives that were still
happening on the Sony end. So who's to blame in this situation? I mean, yeah, I think pitching
a Bloodborne remake as early as last year was probably a little too late, right? That was
probably a little too late because you definitely could have felt that like, yeah, maybe from
soft Miyazaki and Blue Point working together on a remake could be something that could
make a shit ton of sense, bro. Maybe that could make a ton of sense. That could be
really cool. However, this dude's busy as shit, and he is making a lot of different
games at one time. So because of that, his availability just doesn't exist. And they're
like, Hey, remember that whole thing about from soft with bloodborne? Actually, you can't
do that because they want to do it, right? The weirdest part here's and here's the part
that gets me in this whole situation as a bloodborne fan and somebody that's been
and following this shit for a ridiculously long period of time.

And at this point, they were still working with Sony
with the chance of it possibly getting something
in the future.

that he wants a Bloodborne like PC version.
He would like a remaster of the game.
he would like the game to be remastered in some way.
But the thing that's stopping it is Sony,
that he doesn't have it in control
of getting a Bloodborne remaster of some kind.
Like maybe a higher resolution, 60 FPS, like whatever, right?
So he has acknowledged that he has wanted Bloodborne
to show up on modern hardware in some way.
So the weird thing is that like,
why is everything off the books now?
Why is everything now suddenly different?
I don't know.
I don't know if his feelings have suddenly changed, other than him being just busy.
It seems kind of weird that they have shown emphasis and opportunity and obviously references
to future works with Sony back when this stuff was happening in 2018, 2019, but at
a certain point everything just dries up.
So what changed, I wonder?

What changed in that timeframe?
I just think that wasn't what Sony wanted at the time, to be real.
I just think that around the time frame where maybe they were wanting to do some shit, they're

So and Nintendo is like, well, we'll just give you anything.

towards specific directions for the majority of their games
that have now been either greenlit back then
and or canceled now.

They want to get back in closer to the things that
made them do well.
And at the point, it's like, there's
a lot of disconnects.
Sony of Japan closed down.
Yoshida left like a whole bunch of things
that maybe acted as an opportunity
to make a new game just weren't there anymore.
And it was like, well, maybe this is not what they want.
Nintendo is letting us do whatever we want.
Are we going to go with them?
And why does it look like Bloodborne 2?
So anyway, this is just coming from the perspective of like,
just look at all this shit in a bubble, man.
Don't look at the things that are not being said.
Look at the stuff that is directly
being said by the people that are involved,
or Miyazaki himself, man.
Like these are their words coming from this.
And so many people are focusing this conversation
around things that they think they feel.
And it's like, dude, he says it.

He has talked about this shit multiple times
for the past five years about doing a blood-borne thing
and how it's out of his control.
So don't try to read between the lines
of what is not being said.

I'm just disappointed by all this stuff and still would, even if from the face value of
the situation, Blue Point wants to make Bloodborne Remake, Sony wants to make Bloodborne Remake.
FromSoft does not.
Then yeah, that's fine.
They made it, dude.
What are the reasonings behind that?
There might be a multitude of reasoning,
but I think it also boils down to,
Bloodborne is their baby.
It's their creative property that is owned by somebody else.
I'm sorry, it's somebody else's creative property
that they created.
So it is their baby.
If there's an opportunity to do something cool with it,
they would likely want to be the ones to do it right
or to do it within their control.
My dude, we literally just saw this happen
with Final Fantasy Tactics, the Evil East Chronicles,
we literally just saw this happen.
Where it's like in the past,
some other people have gotten control of stuff,
they have their own take on certain things, sure.
But the original devs want to go back
and do the right shit, you know?
FromSoft remasters suck though.
Oh yeah, don't get me wrong.
If we're going to argue the engineering prowess
of FromSoft, that's definitely a point of criticism.
Their games do not look the best
and or perform the best.
They definitely are rough, man.
But still, they make the best shit in the industry, you know?
And you gotta respect the fact that they made
one of the greatest shits in the industry.
It is their, it's their baby.
You don't mess with it.
You don't take it from them and just say,
well, fuck them.
We'll do it, no.
You don't do that.
You don't mess with these guys.
They make some of the most profitable shit in the industry.
They probably don't even make it for that much money,
all things considered.
Let them do their thing.
And if they want to come back in the future, which I think they will,
I think by the time Sony goes through enough executive changes and stuff like
that, because of what's happened in this generation.

I think there's a chance that what has happened from this might light a fire
under people's asses.
And it might be like, well, we need to start fixing shit, dude.
What would we do?
It would be smart if we contacted from soft and actually try to like
reconcile some shit of what happened over the past few years.
Like maybe just maybe.
So, do I think Bloodborne anything, a PC port, a Bloodborne 2, Bloodborne remake, do I think
any of that shit is happening right now?
In the past, I did feel that way, that it was there in some way.
But based on this, if this is true, no.
I don't think any of that shit's happening.
I don't think any of that's happening right now.
Does it mean it can't happen in the future?
I think it could because this is like the biggest news that hit the freaking internet
today dude that like, man, this blood borne thing is not happening.
That's insane.
So it is cope.
No, don't get me wrong.
But in my situation, I'm not here to jump on one or the other.
I'm here to think about like, what can we do moving forward and hoping that we can
get a result that is something that will make people happy.
And I don't want, I'm not the all, I'm not the let it all burn kind of person.
I would like to think that Sony as a company and what they've gone through in this generation
of console could possibly lead to a healing in some way that could allow things to get better.
And if this stuff is true, then I think this could be the thing, this entire giant news story
could be the thing that might allow it to exist in the future. Because the outlash from
this, the criticism from one way or the other, could legit be a thing that might make them
make some dis-specific decisions in the near future. So who knows? I don't think,
um, I don't think it's happening anytime soon, but I think we could definitely maybe
get something pretty cool in the future as a result of this. Dustblood's got to
come out first though and the other games he's working on in the background
that we don't know about, that's gotta happen.
And why wouldn't this be true?
I mean, there's a chance that the details of it might not entirely be accurate because
of who it's directly coming from, you know.
It's coming from second hand accounts, like all that kind of stuff it could be.
I think it's mostly true, right?
That's all I'm saying.
I think this is mostly likely true.
So anyway.
Damn. All I got to say is, Sony fumbled the ball so hard over the past few years with
whatever that happened with FromSoft, with them going to Nintendo and shit, that now
Now enough time has passed where my dude fans are making the Bloodborne Remaster and by the
time this happens will likely make a much better one than even from Soft or the other people
that they eventually get a PC port will eventually make.
There's a good chance that what fans are doing with Shad PS4, this isn't the hands
of fans now.

If there's one person that is the fine, we'll do it ourselves sort of mentality.
Yeah, like that's usually just how it goes and most of the time the stuff that like
fan work puts into can honestly be usually better than whatever PC porting team that might
do it.
Yeah, Nix's could get the job done but would it be like super enhanced?
Would it actually have new textures?
Would it actually have lighting improvements?
It would likely just be a PC port of the game running at high frame rate and maybe giving
you a few graphics options.
That could possibly be the best bet, but it would be the same old-ass 2015 game.
It wouldn't be enhanced.
