and we're just adding into our protocols and adding into all of our

this series against BBL. Welcome back let's hop right into talking about this
one because the name of the game Bayer in that first half was how
prepared energy looked with this double drone cop I spoke about the
preparation and also that I was looking a lot of Ethan and the amount of times
that we saw lovers rock impossible to get out of certain situations just being
suppressed and them actually understanding very well how to deal
with it there were so many moments early on here where this a main fight
ended up going backwards hey they made a nice adaptation here rose required
to use a recon who gets caught the rock pushing forwards to try to salvage
something out of it. Now this was happening on the B side of the map too, Loiter went
for a really weird jump up peek here which you know I think that's gonna catch teams
of dark sometimes.

they're energy one of the best defensive

When we start sound designing in Asia in Valorant, we have to consider some key questions,
like who the character is and what materials are associated with them.
Every sound designer has a different process, but I like to start by developing a foundational
sound, something that everything else builds off of.
For Veto, we face two challenges.
Veto's arm and abilities are made out of the same substance as Gekko's creatures.
So how do we differentiate Veto's sounds from Gekko's sounds?
We decided to distinguish these by making Veto's goop sounds more crunchy and less
fluid sounding than Gekko.
One of the fun ways we added that crunch was by destroying a cabbage.
The second challenge was, how do we communicate danger?
We did this by thinking about Vito's abilities as ambush predators.
Imagine you're in a movie, exploring a cave, and there's a giant spider lurking in the
darkness, lying in wait.
What would the music sound like at that moment?
We landed on this aggressive synth, which ended up as a foundational sound for detail.

I can only imagine how warm it must be in there because it's very warm in here. I love it

And then when you get up into really important rounds to get the ult snowball going, they're
working Creven's lurks through mid, inserting Lover's Rock really deep, really abusing that
avenue through the middle of the map and playing the BBS style that we know and
We love where they're integrating fakes, comboing alts on the cycle rounds.
It was beautiful to watch.
We were thinking about is this BBL the one that is going to lose today?

And maybe it was just one map, because it was so much more calm and composed, especially
having taken into account that energy used both of their timers in the first half
trying to solve it, finding different solutions, and they were able to freeze and just
wait for their reactions and still come out on top.
It wasn't just a bounce back in the macro, but for players individually as well.
Map 1 was, I think, the worst game I've ever seen.
From Leroc personally, it was completely different.
This game though, unbelievable, he turns it around, drops 27 kills this map.
Yeah, I think it's amazing to see that he can bounce back in such a short time,
because trust me, what was it like, 3-N-17?

Yeah, that is not easy to bounce back from.
And it is not that he was there putting out the numbers.
He was going in first, he knew that there was a huge weight in his shoulders, especially with them starting on the attack with him playing the way that he would have to step up and in every single one of those rounds, oh my God, he did.
He's such a genuinely amazing player and I'm so glad that he's come out and immediately bounced back like this, because it's so rough to see him perform so poorly map one.
Hopefully that means that he'll be able to find somewhere in the middle for map three.
You're not always going to get performances like map 2, but hopefully you also don't get him completely flopping.
Maybe he will be a bit of a variance player though when it gets to the stage, because he does like those kind of high-risk high-reward duels.
Yeah, you saw the highlights, not just of him, but the other Rock brother, Lovers Rock.
Those two on the entry looked incredible on this map. They were dismantling the energy side anchors, which are normally so good on defense.
defense. Do you know that the thing that I told you that when we were in November like they just
needed like a couple of rounds to try and get the ball rolling and BBL definitely found it.
Especially the way that they were working them out that they were working mid-time and time again
put an energy in such a difficult position to make decisions because it really looks like every
single time that they went for a bit looking for those deals that we thought BBL wanted to
get them they were not there to reciprocate maybe a trade here and there but that was
about it. Looking at NRG's side now they beat their opponent on their map there
to the pearl that is so good for BBL but historically a base has been towards the
top of the energy map. They lose here dominantly and now we look ahead towards
Split. How are you feeling about the the world champs looking at a series that
is completely flipped on attack? I mean to be honest with you I think both of
these teams don't look that great on Split. Combined they are 1 and 3 this
year on Split so it's towards the bottom of both teams map pool. I think
For BBL, though, they've only shown it once.
They've had a long time to change things up,
whether that be the composition or their approach.
So I actually think BBL might have an opportunity here
to come out and surprise with an incredible map three,
but it should be sloppy and chaotic.
And I also think that kind of favours the individuals on BBL
rather than the structured protocol,
perfect play of energy.

And I remember that after that, I thought BBL are cooked.
They cannot win map five.
And for a second, I forgot that that is Martín's best map on Euro.
They went up against the best Euro in our region playing in his best map,

They did not find the space, and also, we need to speak about all of the other pieces.
Like, for example, Previn, the first time they're playing on the side for the time that he played that split,
and we expect them to be running that double controller,
but I think Previn's playing amazingly today, and split every single time that he was pushing for mid.
I think he made a difference.
Yeah, his lurks were so impactful on this of this.
What are you looking to see from energy on defense to deal with case scenario?
Well, I mean they run a composition that should allow them to grab a ton of information
So in comparison to a base where you have to really be worried about those site pops
And you do tend to leave mid a little more open
On this map I think you'll be looking to re-clear over towards ramp, re-clear towards mid
And you should be able to catch those lurk timings that tend to come through those two avenues
So I'm not as worried about like crazy lurks happening here from BBL
I am more worried about big team fight scenarios
Those were going the way of NRG on map one, but when it's not a map towards the top of NRG's pool,
I think there's more opportunity for BBL to thrive in the team fights, especially if Leroc is online.

Of course, mid being one of the most important parts of this map as we jump into the agent select,
we see no surprises on the BBL site so far as Kevin and I have already looked in the five-point list

Um, yeah, I mean, I would say we're a lot more stable now. You know, we're playing with a lot more of that G2 discipline.
My role is still the same, to be honest. You know, I'm shooting the gaps, I'm playing as a lurker role, so it's pretty easy.
I haven't played it for so long that it's just kind of natural nowadays and you know it doesn't really matter the agent the roles still the same
