of Legends, a ranked reset.
This quick rundown will include all you need to know from the blog they've posted today,
so watch ahead to see if it affects you.
Starting in patch 26.9 when season 2 goes live, every master, grand master and challenger
player in NA, EUS, ENE, Brazil, LAN and Turkey will have to be ranked and MMR reset back
to master 0 LP.
Absolutely nothing will be carried over.
On the rank shot, this doesn't, by the way shot, you can like go get a coffee or something,
this doesn't affect you, okay guys, this has nothing to do with you guys, this is for Apex
tier players.
Changes right amidst they made a bunch of mistakes when configuring the rank system
at the start of 2026.
They were trying to improve things, got an auto fill, got a duo queue in Apex, all
this quality of life stuff but the rollout was a mess.
And the worst part was Apex players were going from patch to patch where they'd
get plus 10, minus 30 one week, then plus or minus 20 the next.
And this is why that doesn't make sense.
It was more about which patch you happened to be playing on that affected how high you
could climb and not actually how you were playing.
And that's not really ranked, that's kinda just you being at the mercy of the LP gods
and it had nothing to do with your performance.
Riot says the underlying matchmaking issues have now been fixed as of patch 26.6 but
the damage is already done.
The current ladder doesn't reflect actual skill and they know it, thus the reset.
The hard reset means no memory of previous ranks in the matchmaking system you have watched
